RESIDENCY DESCRIPTION
Beam Center is proud to announce our inaugural Youth Maker Residency, a 12-week unpaid opportunity for NYC youth ages 16-22. The Youth Maker Residency is designed to provide continued access for young people who are in an intermediate stage of their practice.
Youth can explore their practices, semi-independently, rooted in skilled craft, art, prototyping, designing, engineering, and more, while having access to Beam Center staff and multi-media spaces. Resident artists will showcase projects and participate in a Winter Market hosted at Beam Center.
Examples of projects/practices include: 3D Printing, Music Production, Printmaking/Screen-printing, Woodworking (furniture and/or art), Laser Cutting, Textile/Fabrication, and more!
Residents will receive a $250 base material stipend.
