Dondo Zakheim

Dondo Zakheim (they/them) is Beam Camp’s Staff Director and also conducts many other auxiliary support roles. After their junior year, they dropped out of high school and began working at Open Source Gallery. In this role, they primarily built out their children’s programs, KOKO Open Source, and built soapbox cars, boats, and small electronics projects with children using recycled and upcycled materials. They are currently a part-time urban studies major. Dondo lives and applies learning immediately to living, which feels like a pretty substantial creative practice. If Dondo were a vegetable they’d be a flat cabbage, if they were a pickled vegetable they would be pickled okra.
