Serena Seshadri

Serena Seshadri (she/her) is the OtherWorlds Fair Director with young people on Governors Island. In this role, she works to create learning experiences that prioritize joy, creativity, and curiosity by collaborating with other artists, educators and scientists throughout New York! She seeks to create educational experiences in which youth can see their unique life experiences and skills reflected and valued. Serena has a BS in Chemistry and Education, Inquiry, and Justice from Georgetown University and a PhD in Chemistry from UCSB. Prior to working at Beam, Serena developed engineering and chemistry research projects and worked in elementary schools teaching chemistry through visual art practices. As an artist, Serena has experience in oil painting, photography, and charcoal and ink drawing.
