Em Eason

em eason (they/them) is the Director of Skilled Craft Programs. They primarily write, design and facilitate the SkillCETT (Skills in Craft Education and Technical Training) program at Beam Center. Em holds a BA in Contemporary Art Education from Sarah Lawrence College and an MA in Youth Studies from CUNY SPS. Em has been entrenched in interdisciplinary art making, community care, and project construction for ten years in New York. They have prior experience as a metal fabricator, carpenter, and systems engineer and have held a multitude of roles within the Beam ecosystem since 2018. Their creative practices include playing with dirt, water, and heat.
